The Disneyland Project

I’ve long wanted to start this, but there hasn’t been any kind of catalyst until this point. My undergraduate dissertation is on Theming and Immersion in the Disney Theme Parks. It’s something I know a great deal about, which is why I feel that I can’t fit it into 6,000 words.

What this website seeks to do, in short, is to consider theming as an intellectual paradigm. As far as my reading extends, this is a gap in the academia that impacts the themed entertainment industry. It isn’t going to be intensely academic in it’s writing style, that will be saved for the dissertation itself.

The site also acts as a forum to open up discussion of these ideas. So I hope to be in a position to invite contributors at some point.

For now, the focus is on history.
